Grown on the Strait of Messina. Poured on the Øresund.
Hismael Pinkerton grew up between the vine rows of Tenuta Rasocolmo, his family's Faro DOC estate on the seaside promontory of Capo Rasocolmo, Messina. Years working in hospitality and food operations — from Sicily to the US — taught him the other half of the business: how a wine actually finds its way from a bottle into someone's glass.
Middelhavet is where those two things meet. He imports the estate's wines, olive oil, and preserves into Denmark, and pours them himself at tastings around Copenhagen — still happiest with a glass in hand, wherever it's poured.
"Every bottle we send north still carries the Strait of Messina in it — we just make sure it's opened the right way once it gets here."
